Adopt a pet to beat the winter blues

Embrace snuggle season this winter by taking home a new furry friend during Townsville City Council’s Animal Care and Adoption Centre half-price sale this month.

Community Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability Committee chairperson Maurie Soars said the sale included all puppies, kittens, cats and dogs looking for fur-ever homes.

“This sale means you can pay half price for a lifetime of love, providing an animal with a much-needed home,” Cr Soars said.

“The companionship of a pet is priceless and helps create more welcoming, inclusive and connected neighbourhoods, which is why I’d highly recommend adopting a pet if your household is ready to take on a new companion.

“All of the cats and dogs at our Animal Care and Adoption Centre are desexed, wormed, microchipped and have had their first vaccinations, plus they’re temperament assessed so we know they’re ready to be rehomed and welcomed into their new family.

“If you think now is the right time to adopt a cat or dog, head to Council’s website and take a look at the animals available for adoption.”

This half-price sale ends on June 30, so call the Animal Care and Adoption Centre on 0457 769 362 to book a visit out to the centre.
