SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week is just under a month away starting on Thursday 1st September. This year we welcome back yachts from all over Australia with around 76 yachts competing across 8 divisions, this years Regatta sold out in just under 4 hours. We are excited to be hosting around 800 yachties and their families to celebrate all the Magnetic Island has to offer. The Townsville Yacht Club encourage you to open your doors and welcome those attending the event with open arms. There will be nightly deck parties at Peppers and as in previous years the yachties love to get out and about and explore other offerings as well.

Our social program is full to the brim with lots to see and do and we encourage everyone to come down to Picnic Bay on Father’s Day and experience the largest community event on the island including a brand new event, The Arcadian Surf Club's Great Inflatable Race. There will also be the Townsville Family Life Sand Castle Competition, Free Kids activities, Magnetic Island Markets, Free Shuttle Buses from Nelly Bay to Picnic Bay thanks to the Port of Townsville. Head over to the Picnic Bay Surf Club for the Beach Retreat featuring Mud Crabs Races thanks to SOS Seafood and live music from the Godfather's of Funk, licensed bar and fundraising BBQ.

This year we are so thrilled that so many local Maggie Island businesses have put their hand up to partner with the event: Peppers Blue on Blue, Best of Magnetic, Picnic Bay Surf Club, Arcadian Surf Club, SOS Seafood, Magnetic Island Mens Shed, Tropical Palms Resort and 4WD hire and of course Lance and Chewy at Magnetic Island Marina.
If you are able to offer any free time, we are chasing some volunteers to assist on our welcome desk, the welcome desk is a great place to share your stories to travelling yachties and give them the best advice on where to find great local offerings. In return for your time we offer you a branded shirt, tickets to the sponsors and skippers night as well as a fun time getting to be involved in this great event.
