Council launches updated Grants and Partnership program

Townsville City Council has revamped the way it delivers grants and partnerships to make applications easier for residents, community groups and event organisers.

The new process will be outcomes-focused and help deliver better value for the Townsville community.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said the changes made would help to simplify the process for applicants to Council’s grants and partnerships.

“We’ve taken on the feedback from residents who have applied for grants and partnerships during the past three years and have conducted a program review to help simplify the funding and application process,” Cr Greaney said.

“Council is focused on growing Townsville as a sustainable destination that embraces and participates in the arts, sports, events and recreational activities, so it’s important that we deliver our grants and partnerships process in a way that enhances this goal.

“The changes we’ve made enhance clarity throughout the process and ensure uniformity across applications, making it easier for applicants to apply for grants and partnerships.

“As part of this change we will be hosting two information sessions at Townsville Stadium on Tuesday 21 November and Thursday 30 November. These sessions are open to anyone interested in finding out more about the changes we’re making and how it will benefit the community.”
