Drug charges, Townsville City





Police have charged two people after locating drugs in two suitcases with an alleged street value of more than $1.5 million.

Around 2pm on April 3, police from Townsville District Dog Squad assisted by Deeragun Station officers were conducting passive drug dog detection at the ferry and bus terminals in Townsville City when they located 54kg of cannabis and 1kg of suspected methylamphetamine.

A 30-year-old Innisfail man has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence. He appeared in Townsville Magistrates Count on April 4 and was remanded in custody to re-appear on May 30.


A 51-year old Condon woman has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence. She is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Count on May 10.
