Inside Stories

The official opening of the 2025 Magnetic Museum exhibition Inside Stories will take place on Easter Saturday, 19 April at 2.00pm at the Centre, Granite Street, Picnic Bay.

The exhibition covers various Magnetic Island topics with significant lesser-known facts shown as ‘inside stories’. Curious to know what granite has to do with the first wedding on the Island, what our main Nelly Bay road might have been named or what one of our early teachers did to protect her teaching career? Inside Stories will provide these answers as well as many other previously undisclosed titbits and surprising connections.

An invitation to the launch, with light refreshments to follow, is extended to all. Come along and learn more about the Island’s history – and  support our museum and the band of dedicated volunteers who work to preserve the heritage of Magnetic Island for today’s community and for generations to come.
