Unlawful use of motor vehicle
Police are investigating an unlawful use of motor vehicle complaint that occurred between February 15 at 9am and February 18 at 9am in Nelly Bay.

Drink driving
On February 5, a 39-year-old Nelly Bay man was charged with drink driving.
He will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on March 12, to have the matter heard.
On February 6, a 41-year-old Nelly Bay man was charged with drink driving.
He will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on March 12, to have the matter heard.
On February 13, a 30-year-old Arcadia man was charged with unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered, uninsured motor vehicle.
He will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on March 26, to have the matter heard.
Police request that if you see someone who is intoxicated to please try and deter them from driving.
Call them out, then call them a lift, tell them to catch public transport, or give them the couch for the night.
If they refuse to accept your help and get in their car and drive, please call Triple Zero (000) and report the matter.
Public nuisance
On February 16, a 42-year-old South Townsville man committed a public nuisance disorderly offence in Arcadia.
On February 17, this man was issued with an infringement notice by police for the public nuisance offence.
On February 17 at approximately 10pm, a 30-year-old Horseshoe Bay man, a 43-year-old Horseshoe Bay man and a third unidentified man committed a public nuisance offence at a backpacker’s hostel on Horseshoe Bay Road, Horseshoe Bay.
The two identified men were issued with infringement notices and police banning notices on February 25.
Further investigation is being conducted to identify the third man involved.

Traffic crash
Police are investigating a traffic crash that occurred on February 4 at 6pm on Arcadia Road, Nelly Bay.
Investigations are continuing.
Other matters
Police have issued a large number of infringement notices for people speeding, failing to comply with road signs, failing to wear seatbelts, using mobile phones and parking offences.
The speeding offences have been predominately in the Nelly Bay school zone and parking offences have been mostly around the Nelly Bay ferry terminal.
Police have been taking enforcement action towards vehicles parked illegally in front of the Nelly Bay shopping centre, in the barge car lane and in the no standing zone in Boulder Court
.
Lost/stolen property
Between 8pm on February 6 and 7am on February 7, a man lost his space grey iPhone 11 Pro on the beach in front of a backpackers hostel on Nelly Bay Road, Nelly Bay.
