PUBLIC NOTICE



Upgrade of the Horseshoe - Balding- Radical Bays now completed and track is open.


Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) is pleased to share that the Horseshoe-Balding-Radical Bays walking track upgrade on Yunbenun Magnetic Island is has been completed. The track is now re-opened to the public.

 



Thank you for your patience throughout the construction works.

Valued at $1.35 million, project funding has been provided under the Queensland Government Revitalising National Parks Program and the joint Australian-Queensland Government Reef Joint Field Management Program.

This project forms part of the government’s $5 million strategic investment into Magnetic Island (Yunbenun) National Park’s visitor infrastructure upgrades, now in its fourth year of implementation.

The Reef Joint Field Management Program is run in partnership by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.
