As we are about to welcome a New Year the MICN will continue to keep Island residents informed and up to date with local issues.
However what we will NOT be party to anymore is; local residents who agitate in the back ground on issues - but refuse to put their name to anything. Meanwhile letting the MICN and others who put their name to everything they write, to go into bat for them.
Those days are over.
There is no need to mention people by name - they know who they are, we hope they are enjoying reading this notice.
There is a real need for these people to become transparent, so island residents really know what you people stand for.
The MICN will be working all over the holidays.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our readers, residents and visitors, A Very Happy Christmas and A Happy & Healthy New Year.
Hi Debbie, you invited me to write about the Kelly Street dredge spoil dumping proposal a couple of weeks back so this is probably the best place and time to do that. Like others who have engaged with the objection or petition process with TCC, Magnetic Island Nature Care Association (MINCA) has written letters and made our opinions known to the powers that be. We have had little success in having our voice heard but we haven't given up. We have created a special section on the front page of our web site (minca.org) so that anyone who is interested can look at our contribution to this debate.
Yours faithfully,
Charlie McColl
Well said Debbie and comments to me already are....... "about time", so it seems you are on the mark. You're enduring service to the communty's welfare should be applauded louder than it is.
may you and yours have a Merry Christmas and New year.
Thank you for being there!!!!
Regards,
Mike Schmidt
