Townsville Town Common Conservation Park
The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting a number of small planned weed management burns on the Townsville Town Common Conservation Park through November 2023, weather permitting.
The aim of these burns is to reduce the volume of Parra Grass in wetlands areas, and the burns are a part of QPWS’s annual conservation management program for parks and forests.
Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of the Townsville Town Common Conservation Park and drivers should take care to drive to the conditions. Anyone who may be affected by smoke should also take any necessary precautions.
For more information, members of the public can call QPWS on 13 74 68.
