Townsville City Galleries is thrilled to announce its vibrant lineup of free exhibitions spanning across Perc Tucker Regional Gallery and Pinnacles Gallery during the second half of 2024.
Councillor Liam Mooney said the eight exhibitions promise to inspire, challenge and entertain visitors with their diverse themes and artistic perspectives.
“We are so proud to showcase a diverse range of high-quality exhibitions which celebrate the best of local, national, and international artists,” Cr Mooney said.
“The Townsville community will have the opportunity to engage with exhibiting artists and their works across the Galleries' program of artist talks, workshops, tours, and more.”
Councillor Mooney said highlights in the calendar are beloved competitions such as The Percivals and the North Queensland Ceramic Awards, which continue to spotlight the exceptional talent within the region and beyond.
“A special addition to this year’s calendar is the anticipated kid-focused exhibition, Yucky Yum Yum, set to debut during the Christmas school holidays at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery. This interactive exhibition invites both children and adults to immerse themselves in art and engaging activities,” Cr Mooney said.
“Townsville City Galleries offer something for everyone, from contemporary art to more traditional works, inviting the Townsville community to drop in and experience the richness of talent and culture.”
