Tropical Low 06U
Tropical low to form near the North Tropical Coast and move offshore.
A tropical low (06U) may form near the north tropical coast of Queensland into the weekend and move eastwards, offshore, away from the Queensland coast during Sunday and Monday.
Once offshore, there is a Low (15%) likelihood that it strengthens to tropical cyclone intensity during the weekend.
By Tuesday the system is expected to be in the eastern Coral Sea, and the likelihood of it being a tropical cyclone reduces to Very Low.
Heavy rainfall and strong, gusty winds are expected along the northern tropical coast of Queensland before easing later on the weekend.
